This is a temporary contract opportunity with The Cigna Group through Magnit, an enterprise third-party vendor for contingent work.

The Senior SQL Database Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining the eviCore healthcare database environments, including providing high security of protected health information, monitoring and investigating issues with production applications, evaluating and identifying operational issues within the databases. The Senior SQL DBA will be responsible for working on tickets and monitoring of the database environment and completing user requests for access, change requests, scripts and responding to performance issues. The Senior SQL DBA will review database level code and ensure adherence to DBA standards and best practices. The Senior SQL DBA will be responsible for participating in the 24x7shift schedule. The Senior SQL DBA will be responsible for mentoring junior DBAs and taking a lead role in major projects and working on major issues and working with management to set standards for the team. Other duties will be determined as necessary.
 

Schedule Notes:

• Location: 100% remote. 
• If the person is located near a Cigna office, preference would be for someone who is willing to come onsite during the ramp up period. 
• Team is spread out among St. Louis, Franklin, TN, Morris Planes. Schedule is 8am-5pm EST or CST.
• Position has an on-call incident management schedule that will be set up after they are trained.

Skills

• 15+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 – 2017
• 5+ years of experience with Azure Database Platforms: SQL Managed Instance, SQL VM, SQL DB
• Elastic pools for scale and performance on Azure
• Capacity Planning/Storage
• Extensive understanding of DBA concepts and Best Practices
• TSQL (scripting, stored procedures, triggers, query development)
• PowerShell scripting
• Clustering/Always On technology, Log Shipping, Replication, HA
• Database and SQL Performance Analysis (Index Management and Query Plan Assessment)
• SQL installation and configuration
• Troubleshooting and RCA experience, Incident Management

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, and expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $43.97 - $58.62/hr
