This position is a temporary assignment. As a contractor, you’ll be employed by Magnit, not The Cigna Group or any subsidiaries of The Cigna Group.
 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to lead the migration of on-premises data sources to a modern Lakehouse architecture leveraging Databricks. This role requires advanced technical expertise in SQL, Python, SSRS, and Tableau, along with a meticulous approach to data quality assurance. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for creating and monitoring business-owned datasets to support analytics and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration & Transformation

  • Convert on-premises data sources into Lakehouse-compatible structures using Databricks.
  • Develop and optimize ETL pipelines for efficient data ingestion and transformation.

Programming & Automation

  • Write robust Python scripts for data processing, validation, and automation tasks.
  • Implement reusable code modules for scalability and maintainability.

Data Analysis & Visualization

  • Design and develop SSRS reports and Tableau dashboards to deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure reports and dashboards are accurate, timely, and aligned with business requirements.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Perform intensive data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Document and enforce data validation rules and standards.

Business-Owned Data Sets

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor curated datasets for business consumption.
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and ensure data availability.

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ Years - Strong proficiency in SQL for complex queries, optimization, and data modeling.
  • 3+ Years -Advanced Python skills for data manipulation, automation, and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Lakehouse architecture.
  • 5+ Years - Expertise in SSRS for report development and deployment.
  • 2+ Years - Proficiency in Tableau for interactive dashboards and data visualization.

Data Quality

  • Experience in implementing data validation frameworks and performing root cause analysis for data issues.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

A degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics is often PREFERRED. Extensive experience with healthcare data analysis and quality assurance is valuable, as well as familiarity with data management best practices. A proactive mindset to continuously improve data quality is highly regarded.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation) 

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $30.00/hour-$35.00/hour
