Description:

This position is a temporary assignment. As a contractor, you’ll be employed by Magnit, not The Cigna Group or any subsidiaries of The Cigna Group.

 

As a Product Owner Senior Advisor, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of products that drive profitable growth and enhance customer experience. Acting as the voice of the customer, you will translate insights into actionable features and user stories, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and technical partners. This role requires a blend of business acumen, technical fluency, and agile leadership to ensure the successful execution of product initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Agile Release Train (ART) and scrum teams to external stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
  • Define and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with customer needs and business goals.
  • Translate customer insights, market research, and competitive analysis into actionable features and user stories.
  • Define and refine program epics, identifying minimally viable products and incremental value opportunities.
  • Partner with System Architect/Engineering to develop and prioritize enablers, define non-functional requirements (NFRs), and identify architectural constraints and guidelines.
  • Define, document, and monitor non-functional requirements to ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the applications and tools owned by the scrum team, including their business use cases and technical dependencies.
  • Learn and document how data flows into and out of applications and tools, and assess the impact of those flows on business operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and external dependencies related to owned features and epics.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to define functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Write clear, concise, and testable user stories in BDD format with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize and manage the team backlog to ensure alignment with business value and delivery timelines.
  • Support PI Planning by preparing and presenting prioritized features and user stories.
  • Communicate changes in priorities and product direction to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
  • Resolve delivery issues and escalate when necessary to maintain momentum.
  • Mentor and support other Product Owners, providing guidance on feature and user story development.
  • Champion a product mindset, foster collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision and insights into executable plans.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product management best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience managing complex projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, system architecture, and modern technology concepts.
  • Experience in defining and managing non-functional requirements.
  • Healthcare industry experience, particularly within Cigna or similar organizations, is highly desirable.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior Product Owners or team members.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in evolving environments.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)  

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $50.00/hour-$62.00/hour
